Description

The town of Woodstock, UK, which bears our name, was designated a “Free Borough” by the then-King of England, Henry VI, in 1453. This was a haven for those who did not conform to societal norms. This wine serves as a symbol of the third generation joining the family business and bringing with them modern winemaking techniques that contrast and accentuate the traditional styles connected to the Woodstock line.

Primary fermentation is a sensory experience with eye-catching colors and seductive scents. This small batch experiment is a fresh and exuberant expression of Estate-grown Grenache unlike any red wine Woodstock has created previously. It was inspired by a tasting bench stained with the vivid magenta colours and the rich scented fruit scents of partially fermented grapes.

This young and vibrant style of Grenache is vivid purple and translucent in the glass, and it is all about fragrant aromatics and rich red fruit. The nose has notes of raspberry jubes, scarlet frogs, and a dab of Morello cherry sweets. On the palate, a lively raspberry flavor remains along with enticingly zesty acidity and mouthwatering tannins. A fresh, fruity, slightly savoury wine type made for immediate enjoyment!
