Johnnie Walker Double Black could be seen as more of a variation on a theme or even possibly as a special blender’s edition of ‘Johnnie Walker Black Label’ than as a distinct whisky in its own right. While maintaining the smooth sophistication that has made the entire Johnnie Walker line of blended scotches famous the world over it has a greater percentage of Islay whisky with its emphasis on smoky flavours and creamy textures being very evident. It lays on the tongue with heavy sherried fruit notes and touches of tar that give way to a long smoky finish.
