The ‘Classic Cut’ series is designed to offer a different flavour experience year on year. In 2022, whisky maker Steven Bremner has been given the freedom the explore the distillery’s vast inventories. Joining The Macallan in 2016 as a sampling supervisor, Steven quickly progressed to Apprentice Whisky Maker within the Whisky Mastery Team in 2017 and played a key role in producing the highest quality malts. He took on the role of Whisky Maker in 2018. Already sold out at the distillery, as with previous editions, x-bourbon American oak casks are employed here, adding a sweet lightness, supported by sherry seasoned American oak casks which contribute further depth and complexity. Bottled at high strength, look for keynotes like grapefruit, vanilla and oak. 52.5% Alc./Vol. Notes from Macallan… NOSE: Fresh fruit medley of grapefruit, peach, apple and orange with vanilla sponge, oak, light spice, fruit blossom and almonds. PALATE: Fresh fruit, caramel, a wisp of chocolate, lemon sponge, nuts, oak and light spice. FINISH: Sweet and creamy with warming spice.
