Description
Etna wines have proven to be very popular – is it the unique terroir of Etna? Does the idea of volcano wine capture people’s imagination? Or are the wines just, well, good? Find out with this stunning example from Pietradolce!
Made entirely from Nerello Mascalese, a grape native to Sicily, at an altitude of 800m. The wine only saw a relatively brief 18 days skin contact, so while there is a tannic grip, this is much softer and easier than a lot of Etna reds.
It bursts with red berries and forest fruits, with dried spices and Mediterranean herbs coming through too. Drink this on the younger side to take full advantage of its vibrancy.
