Description

‘Pinot Noir from four vineyards went into this wine in 2022, Harriet’s Vineyard, Boat O’Craigo, Nenagh Park and Willowlake. 2022 was a very low cropping vintage in the Yarra. It was also slow ripening, resulting in lovely aromatics and intensity. Extended time on skins has built some lovely texture. The resulting wine has aromas of sour cherry, rhubarb and strawberry, with hints of herb and spice from the wholebunch batches. The palate is well balanced, with moreish acidity, a dry and savoury finish, with some well matured tannin from the extended maceration.’ ROB HALL, Winemaker

A blend of Harriet’s Vineyard, Healesville, Boat O’Craigo Vineyard, Healesville, Nenagh Park, Willowlake Vineyard, Gladysdale.

Most batches fully de-stemmed, 10% of Harriets Vineyard batches full whole bunch All ferments naturally occurring yeast (wild ferment) Plunging once per day early in ferment, some drain and return late in ferment Typically around 30 days on skins, a couple of batches longer Pressed to tank and settled for around 2 days before racking to barrel – predominantly matured in seasoned hogheads and puncheons
