Willett Distillery 3 Year Old Rye is produced from two separate mash bills. One is 74% rye, 11% corn and 15% malted barley and the other 51% rye, 34% corn and 15% malted barley. These are first distilled in a 60 foot column still and run a second time through a copper pot still before being married and aged in heavily charred white oak barrels. The resulting rye whiskey is robust and mouth filling with heavy fruit notes of apples and cherries mixed with herbaceous elements and mint for good measure. Extremely smooth, it is hard to believe that Willett Distillery 3 Year Old is bottled at 57.5% ABV.
