Two hundred years ago, when the distillery was built, Oban was a quiet fishing village. Today it is a bustling tourist city. One thing that hasn’t changed though is the unhurried manner in which Oban 14 Years Old is made. A very traditional Highland malt, Oban 14 Years Old has a rich sweetness and smoky dryness that is well balanced against a backdrop of pear cider, marmalade, dried figs, toffee apples and sweet spices. It has a sweet finish that is only slightly drying but very smooth touches of oak and sea salt coming through at the end.
